I think its safe to say that most photographers are terrible at capturing their own, daily lives. Or maybe its just me… But I’m pretty sure its not. It makes sense though. When a friend asks me to bring my camera to a party, girls night, etc., I almost view it as a burden. Not because I don’t like taking pictures, but because I feel like my leisure time then becomes ‘work’. I hate this mentality because I am continually missing out on capturing life, so I am being deliberate about changing it. Yes, I will be carrying my little Leo (that’s my camera’s name, btw) around with me everywhere, wrapped in a pashmina, classic J* style.
A couple days ago, I went to the ‘pumpkin patch’ with my family (minus Spency, whose at school in VA). I use quotations around pumpkin patch because lets be honest… Florida doesn’t know how to do pumpkin patches. As a kid, we used to go to a PP (yes, I did just abbreviate) in VA, where my relatives lived. The place had a corn maze, fresh cider, apple picking, awesome slides made out of hay bales, hayrides, AND you actually got to pick your pumpkin from the vine. Now THAT is a PP. Unfortunately, here in the great Sunshine State, our PPs consist of already picked pumpkins, placed on pallets with their like sizes. Its just kinda bleh. However, we have been going to the same place in FL since I was about 10, so the tradition is what makes it fun. What’s actually a little sad/crazy is the fact that this was probably my last year participating in this tradition with my family. Hopefully, Arkansas has some more legit PPs. :)
You know, just a normal family…
My mom is prettier than your mom!
