It’s been a while since I did a ‘Things I Love’ post, which is kinda sad, considering that I love reading others’ so much. But here I am… Finally writing another one, when I really should be studying for my test that’s tomorrow. But really, Internet… Do you expect anything less? Cause if you’ve been following me for any length of time, you probably shouldn’t. :) Today’s ‘Things I Love’ features my dorm room. It is no secret that I am very excited to move into my own grown-up apartment soon (fingers-crossed). In spite of this great desire, I have really grown to love my temporary dorm space. This year it’s homier than ever, and I thought I would share it with all of you! Maybe this is weird/creepy to you… If so, just feel free to stop reading. But I happen to love seeing other people’s spaces. I feel like they are generally a great representation their personality and charisma (or lack thereof). Thus, I am now sharing mine… And without further ado, things I love: #1 – The color pink. Obviously.
#2 – Awesome fake flowers. Cause I can’t keep real ones alive to save my life. #3 – Peacock feathers. Totally trendy right now, and I’ve hopped on the bandwagon.
#4 – Window/Shutter/Mirror thing. Hands down my favorite part of my room. My mom scored me this gem for $5 at our church garage sale. Yes, PLEASE!
#5 – Pictures of people I love, books, good shows & movies, and Apples to Apples. #6 – Mason Jars
#7 – Aviators (Please excuse the graininess… It was super dark in my room.) #8 – Psalm 84:11-12
#9 – ESV Study Bible #10 – Beth Moore. Just started her study on David last week. Inspiring, convicting, and helping me fall more in love with JC.
#11 – Mason Jars (again) #12 – Oranges… I probably eat at least one a day. #13 – Best, best, best friends.
#14 – Tempurpedic Pillow… Aka the best thing to ever happen to me. #15 – My dear fan. Little fact about me… I can’t sleep without a fan on. One of my biggest pet peeves is loud breathers, and if I can hear myself at night, I won’t be able to sleep. I realize that my fan is a little dusty, but don’t judge me… I can’t figure out how to get it open. Haha.
#16 – Paper Hearts. Second favorite thing about my room. At the beginning of the semester, I just got the urge to cut hearts out of paper and string them from the ceiling. They make these super cute heart shadows on the wall that just brighten my day. :)
#17 – My roommate. She’s actually making me include her, but she really is one of my favorite things about the room. Happy Monday! :) It was a PERFECT day for a December wedding in Florida. A high of 74 degrees, clear blue skies, and zero humidity?? Yes, please! Internet, this is the kind of winter weather that I’m okay with. If you’ve never experienced this, you’re missing out. I pulled up to the Lake Mary Events Center that morning just knowing that it would be a perfect day… That’s my natural photographer’s intuition… Don’t even worry about it. I had been looking forward to Stephanie & Doug’s New Year’s Eve wedding for months and months. I remember initially meeting with them in Starbucks thinking, “This is gonna be a ballin’ wedding.” And I was so right. Photographer’s intuition strikes again! Both the bride and groom were completely relaxed and prepared to soak in everything incredible they would experience that day. Their ceremony was perfect… Simple, Christ-centered, and so proving of their love for each other. It was such an awesome honor to be apart of the wedding day of two people who love the Lord so much. I truly believe that Doug & Stephanie will have many, many great years together, as they follow the Lord. Here are some of my favorites from the day… See… I told you it was a perfect day.
The beautiful bride getting ready…
Stephanie’s bridesmaid Natalie helped her get ready.
A small detail of her beautiful dress…
I love, love, love when a bride chooses not to wear a traditional, white shoes.
BEAMING. Gosh, Steph… You’re so flippin’ beautiful.
The precious flower girls sat quietly in the corner, observing everyone, and carefully watching the bride.
Meanwhile, the guys were all circled around Doug while he patiently waited for the ceremony to begin.
There are some things that not even Prom can prepare you for… Does anyone really know how to pin a boutonniere?
I had never seen a navy blue & bronze color scheme before, but it worked beautifully for Stephanie & Doug’s wedding.
The handsome groom…
A very special moment of prayer between the women.
Steph’s STUNNING bouquet.
FLIPPIN’ MODEL! Favorite picture of the bride. So timeless and breath-taking!
The groom’s first look at his bride…
Have you ever seen a father look more proud while walking his daughter down the aisle? What a beautiful moment.
The AWESOME bridal party. Seriously, ya’ll rocked.
Told ya they were awesome. :)
I love it when couple’s prioritize pictures. It really is so important to make a good amount of time for them on your wedding day… Steph & Doug let me steal them away during the reception for some bride & groom pictures. And the lighting was KILLER.
Beautiful Lake Mary Events Center.
First dance as husband & wife…
The way they look at each other just melts my heart… So in love.
And then started the waterworks… Stephanie’s dance with her dad.
Its moments like these that remind me that I have the most amazing job in the whole wide world.
I loved seeing how tightly Doug’s mom held him.
Then the party started, and let me tell you… These kids could get down. :)
The bride was pretty good at it too! ;)
Some details… I told you that the navy blue & bronze was awesome.
Oh, this picture just KILLS me. FAVORITE.
Doug & Stephanie… I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to be apart of your wedding day. It was perfect in every way. :)
