I seriously LOVE giving stuff away… I guess I’ve watched too many episodes of Oprah’s Favorite Things or something. Ps… If you just watched that video without smiling, you are officially a February Scrooge. I would do a giveaway it every week if I didn’t need to make money! One day, after browsing the $1 section at Target and getting SO excited about all the red, pink, and sparkly hearts, I decided I wanted to give away a session to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The details are all included in the photo below, and you can find a link to my Facebook page HERE or on the menu above. And because I’m feeling extra Oprah-y this morning, scroll to the end of this post to find out how to win a bonus THREE entries to the giveaway. (That’s 12 total chances!!!)

Totally unrelated, but how adorable are our awesome friends Cayla-Marie & her hubs Aaron?!

For an extra three entries:

1. Comment on this post below and be sure to leave your name and email!
2. Tweet a link (www.kelseytice.com/valentines-giveaway/) to this post and tag @kelseytice!
3. Share this blog post on your Facebook by using the same link as above and tag Kelsey Tice Photography!

Good luck & happy Thursday! :)

I have a confession to make: I am a jealous photographer. Before you get all judge-y, let me explain… I love, love, love the brides & grooms that I get to work with, and I want to work with them exclusively and as much as possible. This is why I offer complimentary engagement sessions to every couple that books me for their wedding! If I have a couple book me for their wedding but want to do their engagement session with another photographer, this creates a weird situation for both of us because I miss that hour of bonding time with my couples before their wedding. Having this time together makes the wedding day pictures SO much more relaxed and comfortable, and it allows me to get to know the couple’s quirks and how they interact. Now, I totally understand that distance sometimes makes this impossible. I have multiple couples booked for weddings this summer who live more than a 5 hour drive away. Obviously, I would love to have the opportunity to shoot their engagement session, but I also understand that most couples don’t have an extra $600+ to pay for my travel… But I’ll still be a little jealous. :)

Today, I’m sharing an engagement session with you that I shot last week in the midst of a snowless blizzard. Yes, they actually exist. I was so excited to meet Grant & Brittany for the first time, and our session got me so excited for their May wedding. It will be the epitome of southern class, and I wish I could fast-forward to their day right now! These two might be the sweetest couple that I’ve ever worked with, and they have been together for SIX YEARS. That’s got to win some sort of award. Despite the fact that it was freezing, I had so much fun with Grant & Brittany and loved getting to know them as a couple. It was evident from the very beginning of our session that Grant loves Brittany with such a sweet, gentle love, and they were so adorable laughing and keeping each other warm. Enjoy my favorites from our session!

I love it that Brittany has to stand on her tip-toes to reach Grant. We’re totally kindred spirits in that area. :)

Let’s get a slow-clap going for Grant’s incredible beard…

I love shooting at Old Main on the University of Arkansas’ campus, especially since it’s so significant to Grant & Brittany.

AH! So sweet. :)

This girl is going to be a GORGEOUS bride!

In case you’re wondering (because I was), Brittany’s beautiful coat is from Anthropologie… The land of beautiful things I can’t afford.

Love these! How do I always get blessed with the sweetest and most adorable couples?!

I’ll end with my favorite… :)

Grant & Brittany, I can’t wait to be apart of yall’s wedding day… Counting down the days to May 18th! :) Happy Wednesday!

Ps… I’ll be announcing a Valentine’s giveaway on my Facebook page tomorrow, so be on the lookout!

Some of my favorite photographers blog their goals at the beginning of every month. Why I love knowing what other people are working towards so much, I don’t know… Maybe it has something to do with their transparency and determination. One of my 2013 goals was to blog more consistently, which I’m proud to say I’ve been doing! In my mind, I had decided that monthly goals needed to be included in my regular blog posts, and today is my first one!

BUSINESS

1. Continue to blog every week day.
2. Sell my 24-70mm 2.8L in order to buy the 35mm 1.4L. I’ve held on to my 24-70 for so long because it’s the lens every photographer “has to have”. Well, I actually don’t like shooting with it, rarely use it, so it just sits in my office taking up space. I’m a prime girl through and through, so I might as well trade it out for a lens I’d use on the regular!
3. Get my office organized and actually USE it! Maybe I’ll even blog a picture or two.
4. Finalize my bride & groom welcome packet! Super excited about this one. :)

PERSONAL

1. Go to the gym 4x’s a week. This one was going great until last week. Whoopsies.
2. Throw away crap I don’t need. NO MORE HOARDING.
3. Plan dinners a week ahead of time so I’m not scrambling at the last minute.
4. Sew a couple of pillow covers for our bed.
5. Re-read The Pursuit of God by AW Tozer.

There it is! I had a few more goals I wanted to include, but I figured I should keep it simple so they’re actually accomplished. :) Here’s a little peek of an engagement session that will be hitting the blog this week!

Happy Monday!
