I know this is normally my Friday post, but Aaron is off today, which means I need a brainless post for today! Maybe I’ll be able to come up with something with a little more substance for tomorrow’s post, but no promises there. :) Here are my favorite Pinterest finds from this week!

I am DYING over this DIY clock. It’s the one thing that’s missing from our house because I haven’t found one that I love yet, and I think this might be the one! Get excited, Aaron! Another project is coming your way. :)

This J.Crew necklace would be an INSANE addition to your wedding day attire. Talk about non-traditional and personality!

All of my blog friends have been posting about their super healthy meals, and I’m over here like, “I LOVE CHOCOLATE!!!”
I have no shame. Okay, maybe I have a little shame.

I love, love, love peonies, and this arrangement has me drooling. I wish it was summer and these were on my kitchen table right now!

And lastly for this week, here is a great exchange between Michael Scott & Jim Halpert from back in the day when The Office wasn’t awful.

Happy Thursday!

Last week, one of my favorite photographers, Bobbi, posed the following question to brides: “If you could do your wedding over, would you have worn different shoes?” The reason that this question stuck out to me is because I DEFINITELY made the wrong shoe choice for my wedding day, and it was incredibly distracting! Yes, they were super fabulous, but they were super, SUPER painful. Presenting exhibit A:

Now, I’m am 100% an advocate of unconventional/non-traditional wedding day shoes, and I did really love mine. However, I did make a few mistakes that ensured a very painful wedding day:

-ordered them a 1/2 size too small so they wouldn’t slip off
-didn’t bother to break them in
-wore them without some sort of gel insert, which would have made a world of difference

Because of all of this, I ended up with a toe that did not stop throbbing for our ENTIRE honeymoon… No exaggeration. This was especially frustrating because I had purchased a pair of flats to change into at the reception, but I was so busy with dinner, guests, and dancing that I didn’t get around to changing them until an hour before we left! What’s even worse is that the flats I had purchased were almost as uncomfortable as my 5.5 inch heels! Realllll smart, Kelsey. Brides, learn from my (and many other brides) mistakes! Don’t be scared to go bold & adventurous with your wedding day shoes, but be smart by taking comfort into account! Here are some of my tips:

-Buy the RIGHT SIZE! Don’t be dumb like me!
Break your shoes in before the wedding day by wearing them for more than 10 minutes around the store.
-Consider buying a set of inserts for added cushion and comfort. Dr. Scholls has great options!
-If you are set on a pair of sky-high heels, consider buying a pair of flats to change into at the reception.
-Break your reception shoes in too!
-Assign someone to bring you your reception shoes, or you will get too busy to remember to change into them!
-If you need some height without the pain, wedges are a great option! In fact, I think my “wedge brides” are the smartest ones of them all! :)
-Make sure your shoes represent YOU! Sure, those dyeables might match your bridesmaids, but personality goes a lot further in photos!

Here are some of my favorite shoes that my brides have worn over the years!

A true southern bride is never without her cowgirl boots. :)

Heels with platforms are definitely the way to go if you want to add some height!

The perfect wedge from my first shoe love, Steve Madden… You’re quite brilliant, Devin. :)

Bethany’s shoes were vintage and totally fit her personality and style!

Ana wore an adorable pair of flats that complemented Joey’s stripped socks.

These heels had so much personality… Even the soles were hot pink!
This is probably the only good I’ve ever seen come from Paris Hilton.

And, of course, I can’t post about the perfect wedding day shoe without mentioning Toms! They really are the perfect balance between personality and comfort, and they even have their own wedding collection! If I could do it all again, these would be my pick!

Does anyone else have the extreme urge to go on a shoe shopping spree or is that just me? It’s probably a good thing I can’t drive in snow, or I’d be hitting up the mall right now!

Happy Wednesday!

Stephanie - Oh I just love all of these shoes! I actually went barefoot for my wedding because that’s what fit my personality – I haaaate wearing shoes :-)ReplyCancel

I’m going to be honest… I just DON’T want to blog today. I don’t really have anything to say, any sessions to share, and I’m feeling totally uninspired to come up with something creative. I took a break from blogging yesterday because my mom was in town, and I can’t miss another day… So, for consistency’s sake, here is a blog post that will hopefully not bore you to death. Ha!

1. “Tice” is not my maiden name, but it’s my middle name. (My maiden name is “Hightower”, which is ironic considering my height.)
2. My favorite food is Outback’s Ahi Tuna.
3. I went to school at Liberty University and got my undergrad in Bible and my master’s in Theology.
4. My biggest pet peeves are nail biters and loud breathers.
5. Four days before high school graduation, I made some VERY bad decisions and ended up with black/purple hair.
6. I took 8 years of piano lessons but can’t play anything now. Fail.
7. Growing up, I had a guinea pig named Mr. Pickles.
8. Aaron and I had a mutual friend set us up, but our first two months of communication were through Facebook messages.
9. I don’t have the world’s greatest driving record but haven’t had a ticket for almost 3 years now!
10. My favorite flowers are peonies and garden roses.
11. My drink of choice from Sonic is a diet cherry Coke Zero, Route 44, of course.
12. And from Starbucks, it’s almost always an iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte. Oh my word. HEAVEN.
13. My favorite tv show is Friends, and I’ve seen the entire series over 10 times.
14. Since moving to Arkansas, I have had the craziest allergies.
15. I am currently watching Toddlers & Tiaras. Don’t judge.
16. My least favorite household chore is dishes. Unfortunately, this is also Aaron’s least favorite.
17. When skinny jeans became popular, I thought they were the ugliest trend ever, but now they’re all I wear.
18. I was homeschooled for 6 years, so I guess that explains where my weirdness comes from.
19. I love the smell of rain, and I miss Florida’s daily summer thunderstorms.
20. My favorite movies are Dirty Dancing and That Thing You Do! Classics.
21. I am terrified of all bugs, but spiders are my greatest fear.
22. I could spend our entire life savings between Plato’s Closet and Target.
23. After about 9:30pm, I show that I’m tired by acting crazy and saying super weird things. Aaron is so lucky.
24. In 5th grade, my best friends and I created a band started a band called GLGirlz. The “GL” stood for God-Loving. Oh my.
25. I might be the world’s least athletic person, so I have to hype myself up every day to ensure I actually make it to the gym.

Happy Tuesday!
