This past weekend was the first of MANY exciting weekends coming up! On Thursday, Aaron & I go to San Antonio for some late anniversary celebrations, and the next weekend, I get to fly to NC to spend some time with a few of my best LU buddies. Then the following week may or may not be my birthday, but you totally don’t need to get me a present. Or do… whatever. April has always been one of my favorite months, and this year will be no exception! :)

Ben Rector, who is my 2nd favorite musician (only behind Dave Barnes), was in town on Wednesday and Thursday for his spring tour. The only time I’d ever seen Ben before this weekend was when he opened for Dave at a concert I went to in Charlotte, NC, so I was SO excited to see him headline his own show! Aaron and I indulged in some delicious Chipotle before the concert and arrived 2 hours early because we were misinformed about the concert time.

So naturally, we found a musty old bookstore and took pictures in it to kill time. What? You’re telling me that you wouldn’t have done the same?

Okay, so maybe it’s a little weird, but we had fun. :)

A great perk of arriving so early meant that we were some of the first people in the venue and got to stand directly against the stage. KILLER! Not only was this super great for me because of my height (or lack thereof), but I seriously felt like we were in the middle of the most epic and beautiful singalong. Ben puts on such an amazing show, and if you ever get the chance to see him, DO IT. I think it’s safe to dub him as the master of amazing cover songs…. Some of his more famous ones being Free Falling and I Wanna Dance with Somebody. One of the perks of standing against the stage is getting to see the whole set list before the concert starts, and when I saw he was starting with Benny and the Jets, I about freaked out. Benny and the Jets… Get it, get it?! :) I’m so glad someone in College Station had the good sense to video it and put it on Youtube. SO good… Watch it here. If you aren’t familiar with his music, you need to pull it up on Spotify or Pandora to give it a try. But I warn you… Once you hear him, you will want to buy every piece of music he’s ever released, but that’s okay. :)

Dear Ben, thanks for being rocking our weekend. Please come again soon. Love, Kelsey & Aaron

AH! SO GOOD!!!!

Happy Monday, y’all!

Hilariousity. I’m pretty sure it’s not a real word, but Urban Dictionary defines it as “so funny you can’t breathe”, which brings me to today’s totally random and not at all photography-related blog post. Noley (our puppy-child) likes to jump up between Aaron’s legs with her toys when he’s sitting on the couch. Naturally, he takes this opportunity to distort her face in as many ways as possible. Hopefully, these pictures will bring you as many laughs as they bring us.

Poor Noles.

Happy Thursday! :)

Do you ever have those days (or months, weeks, and years) when you just have the extreme urge to go shopping and buy everything in sight? Yeah, that’s been me for the past week, and in an effort to keep the peace in my marriage, I’m refraining from even allowing myself to step foot in a store. Be proud, Husbie. So what’s a girl to do when she has no money to spend but has that crazy urge to shop? Play virtual dress up, of course!

Have you ever seen those perfectly put together outfits on Pinterest like this and wondered how they were made? Well, one of the easiest and quickest ways to make them is through Polyvore, an online style community where you can create collages using clothes, accessories, etc. from any website. It’s not only awesome for everyday use, but it’s an even better tool for brides to use when trying to figure out the looks for their wedding! Let’s say you found the perfect bridesmaid dress from Ruche (which I’m DYING over, by the way), but you can’t decide what shoes and accessories to pair with it for you girls… Using Polyvore, you can bring the whole look together to see if it works BEFORE ordering a million different options and having to deal with returns.

Why didn’t I know about this before our wedding?? It seriously would have saved me from SO many headaches! Ps. I’m totally loving look 2! :)

I decided to use Polyvore to play virtual dress up this afternoon and created a few looks that would be perfect for upcoming spring and summer weddings. Everything is from ModCloth, which I absolutely adore! If you’ve never checked out their website, you need to NOW!

It might not work for everyone, but this really is the perfect way to cure my shopping urges!

Happy Wednesday!
