Isn’t it sad that I used to blog SO consistently about my life when there wasn’t really anything to blog about, and now that I’m pregnant, I’ve only blogged once. It’s all sorts of terrible, but I’ve resolved to be better!
I can hardly believe that I’m already 17 weeks pregnant! The first trimester seemed to DRAG, but I suppose that’s because I was feeling like death while we were holding in our huge secret. I have to give the second trimester props because it has been AWESOME so far. Since about week 14, my nausea and extreme exhaustion have been gone, and I finally feel like a normal person again. Here is what life and Baby Crawford are looking like these days:
Such a sweet profile! :)
How far along: 17 weeks
Total weight gain: 5lbs. Boo. (I suppose that’s not too bad, but I do feel quite like a fat lard.)
Baby’s size: This week, baby is the size of an apple!
Maternity clothes: Pants, for sure. According to what people have told me, I’m carrying low, and my pants are about 3 inches away from buttoning. I have a pair of maternity jeans, but they are still too big. This in-between stage is so awkward! I picked up a few belly bands from Target last week, and I can already tell that they will total life-savers. Yesterday, I was able to wear my favorite pair of non-maternity jeans with the addition of the belly band. Yay!
Stretch marks: Just the ones left over from my freshman-35lb weight gain in college. And no, I’m not exaggerating.
Sleep: Aside getting up every 2 hours to go to the bathroom (again, not exaggerating), I’m sleeping great!
Best moment of this week: Well, this was technically last week, but we spent a week in Florida with my family and had a couples shower with some of our sweetest Jax family and friends. It was a great week!
Miss anything: The amount of caffeine I used to consume. Technically, I don’t really miss it, but the crazy headaches I get every afternoon indicate that my body definitely misses it.
Movement: There’s a chance I’ve felt a few flutters, but I could also be imagining things.
Food cravings: Carbs. Anything carbs. My go-to meal has been noodles with butter and salt.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really!
Have you started to show yet: Obviously… See the above lines about not being able to button my pants.
Gender: Girl! (We think.) While we were in Jax this week, a friend of ours did us an AWESOME favor, and we were able to have a ultrasound. It was so incredible to see our baby and how much it’s grown since our 8-week ultrasound. We saw the profile, spine, limbs, bum, and little heart beating. Absolutely amazing. Baby wasn’t being totally cooperative in it’s positioning, but the tech is pretty sure it’s a girl! We won’t be 100% certain until our 21-week ultrasound with my doctor, but we’ve started mentally preparing for a baby girl. :)
Labor signs: None.
Belly button in or out: In, but it looks so weird. (Sorry if that’s TMI.)
Wedding rings on or off: On. I’d be in trouble if they were already off.
Happy or moody most of the time: This would probably be a better question to ask Aaron, but I’m pretty happy. I get snippy every once and a while, but I try to be quick to snap out of it.
Looking forward to: Having the gender confirmed in 4 weeks. Now that we are pretty sure it’s a girl, I am wanting to buy EVERYTHING pink, lacey, sparkly, etc., but it’s probably best to hold off until we know without a doubt.
Last Saturday, about to shoot a wedding with my main squeeze.
No way that pants are buttoning around that bump!
